Wedding season is in full-swing. As a bride, you want your big day to be the magical affair you always dreamed of as a little girl. Likewise, wedding and event planners want to deliver extraordinary ceremony and reception designs for their clients. In order to produce a high-end look one must incorporate all the bells and whistles to create the perfect scene, which includes setting the mood with candles. Photographer?Jose Villa , event planner?Laurie Arons ?and florist?Sarah Winward ?demonstrate how to perfectly incorporate pillar candles into a wedding ceremony at the 2014 Mexico Workshop.
For more than 10 years, Jose Villa has been hosting photography workshops in Mexico where 25 attendees from all over the world learn from Villa and his dream-team of design experts. The creative team includes editors from Martha Stewart Magazine, the owner of Style Me Pretty wedding blog, wedding planners and designers from Duet weddings, Nicolette Camille floral designer and more.
For the ceremony, the team lined the aisle with our classic hurricane pillars in Paris Gray for a whimsical, romantic look. The varied heights add a wow-factor and the subtle greenery complements the pillars beautifully.
The altar was gorgeously illuminated with pillar candles, too. Winward created a flowing garland of greenery that ties in with the leaves in the aisle display. The neutral color palette of creamy grays, natural browns and rich greenery for this ceremony is simply stunning.

For the reception, the team designed an astonishing entrance lined with pillar candles in different heights. The warm glow of candlelight instantly established a romantic mood as guests entered the space to take their seats for dinner.
A mix of pillar and taper candles were used for this banquet-style reception table. Red floral arrangements provided a beautiful contrast?against?the neutral color palette of the tablescape and rustic feel of the venue.
