IAF Pilatus PC-7 Crash Kills Two Pilots in Hyderabad
In a recent incident in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, a Pilatus PC-7 Mk II aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed, resulting in the deaths of two pilots, an instructor and a cadet. The accident occurred near Ravelli village, Toopran, in Medak district, during a routine training sortie from the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad. Following the crash, the IAF has initiated a Court of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the accident; meanwhile, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased pilots. The aircraft, a Swiss-manufactured trainer, has had a history of five accidents since 2008, prompting the IAF to cancel orders for 38 of these planes, replacing them with India-made HAL-HTT 40 trainer aircrafts. Medical Emergency on American B788 Flight
An American Airlines Boeing 787-8, en route from Paris to Philadelphia, experienced a medical emergency on November 29, 2023, as the first officer suffered a seizure and became incapacitated during final approach. The captain reported the emergency and safely landed the aircraft at Philadelphia International Airport, with emergency services waiting at the gate. The relief pilot, assisted by the purser, moved the first officer, whose legs were jammed under the rudder pedals, and took over the co-pilot's duties for landing and taxiing. Irkutsk Airport An-26 Incident
An Antonov An-26B cargo plane, operated by IrAero, experienced a nose landing gear collapse during landing at Irkutsk Airport, Russia, on December 3, 2023, around 16:30 local time. The aircraft, carrying Russian Post cargo and a crew of five without any passengers, safely evacuated, reporting no injuries. The airport resumed operations after the aircraft was removed from the runway, with the Eastern Siberian Interregional Territorial Administration of Rosaviatsiya initiating an investigation into the incident classified as a serious event.
