A Piece of Ginger
There are many ways of representing organizations, and this is usually by some form of a diagram. I think that a piece of ginger is more representative of organizational reality.
- The rhizome (main body of plant) grows perpendicular to the force of gravity.
- The rhizome is a store of energy to grow.
- Not all nodes are the same.
- If divided into pieces, each piece can form its own plant.
- It is not a two dimension drawing, but a three dimension work of natural living forces.
- It has a seasonal life pattern
These are all characteristics of an organization.
Next time you see a piece of ginger, examine it and see how its shape reflects your organization.
So, if you want a solution finder who sees and understands your organization as a natural living formative body, and not a static inert diagram, -- call me.
