Picote Aqua for High-Speed Cleaning in Water Mains

Picote launched Picote Aqua for Water at IFAT in Munich, Germany last week, but what is it? For several years Picote has been seen as the frontrunner in electro-mechanical high-speed cleaning machines with a range of Millers and tools for the fast, efficient and safe cleaning of sewer pipes, an excellent way to prepare pipes for trenchless rehabilitation. Taking this tried and tested method and tools, used on thousands of wastewater worksites worldwide every day, and adapting for use in clean water pipes was a clear next step.

Available in the same great range of Millers for cleaning small diameter pipes, the Maxi Aqua currently has the longest reach, with 30m of Shaft which can be extended to 45m with an extension, which means from two access points a total potential capability of 90m in DN75 to DN250 pipes. High-speed (500-1475rpm) and high-torque, the Maxi Aqua is well equipped to pulverise corrosion, even up to 100% in the pipe, bringing cast iron back to near original condition in only a few passes. Also suitable for ductile iron, steel, asbestos cement, concrete and plastic pipes.

Cyclone Chains (Tiger Cyclone pictured), operate at high-speed. The centrifugal force centres them to enable very accurate cleaning. Also available without carbides for use in plastic pipes. Picote Aqua offers a range of tooling depending on the pipe type and diameter. For longer lengths or bigger diameters in straight pipes, Picote's innovative tools have been adapted to work with Schwalm Talpa Robots, via a special air motor. Picote Aqua is happy to offer these Robots, capable of cleaning corrosion at a rate of several metres per minute and up to 200m in length, with support available from our technical team. These Robots are especially gentle on brass connections in water mains.
