Pico de Gallo Mexican Grill Joins Marketplace at Avalon Park

Mexican cuisine expands the diverse culinary line-up of the food hall

Orlando, FL (April 6, 2020) – Marketplace at Avalon Park is pleased to announce that Pico de Gallo Mexican Grill will join east Orlando’s premier food hall, scheduled to open late summer/early fall 2020.

Marketplace at Avalon Park has just executed an agreement with Pico de Gallo Mexican Grill to bring Mexican cuisine to the first floor of the Avalon Innovation Center in the Marketplace food hall. 

“Mexican food is one of my favorites and when I saw the menu for Pico de Gallo, I knew they were the perfect fit for Marketplace,” says Mara Hunt, Marketplace at Avalon Park. “Creating a diverse line-up of cuisines in the Marketplace is key, as it allows for us to appeal to a bigger audience and draws a larger crowd.”

Pico de Gallo has been the 12-year vision of Heidi Lopez and her sister Heisell Alarcon. The two immigrant sisters from Nicaragua will bring their culinary and business experience to Avalon Park with a full cafeteria-style menu. The menu includes mix and match options from bowls to burritos and tacos, with various meats and traditional sides, like rice and beans, and of course chips and salsa.

“As entrepreneurs, my husband Jorge and I are always excited at an opportunity that will be great for business and our family,” says Heidi. “When we saw the opportunity to bring some of our favorite cuisines to our community in The Marketplace, we jumped.” 

The Marketplace at Avalon Park is located at 3801 Avalon Park East Boulevard. The Marketplace encompasses over 8,000 square feet with 10 eatery bays that will comprise the food hall, a commissary kitchen, live entertainment and event space, a general store, bar and a gathering kitchen.
