Are Salesforce Page Layouts Dead??

This may sound a little dramatic, but it’s actually a fair question, as Salesforce has been improving this functionality since the initial release of Lightning back in 2015 – going from Classic Page Layouts to Lightning Page Layouts, and finally, to Dynamic Forms.?

With new features to enjoy and less reliance required on the old page layouts, each Salesforce release has taken steady steps forward. Now that the key dynamic features below have all been delivered, perhaps it’s time to start migrating away from Page Layouts to Dynamic Forms:

  • Dynamic Forms
  • Component Visibility
  • Dynamic Actions
  • Cross Object Fields
  • Dynamic Highlights
  • Conditional Field Formatting
  • Dynamic Related Lists
  • Mobile Support

Are Salesforce Professionals Happy Working in the Ecosystem?

Our survey says… Data from our recent salary survey has shone a light on job satisfaction in the ecosystem – we looked at equality, opportunity, progression, and salary, to see what happiness really looks like.

In good news, almost 85% of respondents said that they felt respected and valued in their roles, with the highest rates of satisfaction observed in administrator, program manager, solution architect, and technical architect roles.

When it comes to Salesforce salary trends, opinions were somewhat divided, with roughly equal percentages (approx. 30%) believing salaries increased, decreased, or remained stable. And while almost 75% believe their employer promotes equal pay, only 56.7% felt their salary is fair compared to peers, indicating mixed satisfaction levels.

Overall, the majority of our respondents stated that they felt 80-90% satisfied in their careers – interesting when considering whether or not professionals are considering a role/industry change in the near future, to which 57.6% of our respondents answered yes.

Spooky Salesforce Horror Stories for Halloween

There’s something strange in your Salesforce org… Here are some all-too-familiar tales, each with their own ‘moral’ to help you escape these spooky situations.

  • The dreadful data loader: Always perform a validation test of your data loads and remember to back up your org data in case something goes wrong.
  • The spooky single admin org: Keep a close eye on how many admin users you have – never just one, but never too many.
  • Pandora’s sandbox: Use a password manager first and consider using Sandbox Access Groups to make sure there’s more than one admin with access, just in case someone loses their access.
  • The absent-minded automation enthusiast: Just because you can automate something doesn’t mean you always should.
  • The curse of rapid evolution: Always thoroughly test your new features before deploying them to production. And never build in production!
