THE PI- INAUGURAL LECTURE
Temitope Jaiyeola
Professor of Mathematics 3rd Occupier of the “Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye Professorial Chair of Mathematics”
An ENZYME is any of several complex proteins that are produced by cells and act as catalysts in specific biochemical reactions. Pi as a constant acts like a mathematical enzyme in the perimeter and area formula of a circle; surface area and volume of a cylinder; volume of a sphere.
The digits of the the dean's inaugural lecture series number *369* form an *Arithmetic Progression (AP)* with *1st term 3* and common difference *3* I.e. *3,6,9*.
The sum of the terms of this AP is *3+6+9=18*; each term *{3,6,9}* is a divisor of *18*.
The Inaugural lecture was presented in the *3rd* month.
The prime factors of *18=2×32* are *2* and *3*. We are in the year *2023*.
The Arithmetic Mean of the sequence *3,6,9* is *(3+6+9)/3=18/3=6*.
*ENZYME* has *6* alphabets.
Lecture presented on the *14=2×7*. Prof's surname *ADEWALE* has *7* alphabets. The digits of *2023* add up to be *7*.
369=3×123.
The digits of 123 are the first set of natural numbers.
The prime factors of *123* are *3* and *41*. When you alternate *41*, you get today's day number ; *14*.
*March 14* is actually celebrated as *pi*-day because it conotes *3.14*. The area and circumference of a circle are interms of the constant *pi*.That is *pi × radius2* and *2pi × radius*.
*369=360+9=360+32*.
369 exceeds 360 by a square of *3* . OAU is 3-lettered.
