The Physical Peer to Peer Network
In our endeavors to go beyond the what nature had planned for us, often we forget how helpless we are in the face of nature at it's worst. Communication via mobile phones have become an intricate part of our regular lives now, we can not imagine a day without it. What if we are stuck in a storm or a flooded area and it seems that most phone towers in the area are not actually working. In such a disaster how can we pass on important messages to our loved ones. satellite phones can be a solution but that cost a lot and the procedure to acquire them can be a hassle. What if we had a low cost, minimum spectrum hassle way to handle this issue in order to send small messages in order. In the previous days when OTG was still in the making this was a process that required escalation of privilege in an operating system that was beyond the means of a common man to operate and having control over miniature etched antennas in phones in order to make them transmit what we want them to required procedures that violated the terms set by most phone makers. With the easy availability of OTG adapters now, we can easily set up a physical peer to peer network that would distribute a signal over peers until a phone is found within network coverage. I am actively looking for amateur radio enthusiasts and android developers to join me on this project as it has the potetntial to be big. It can actually save lives in disaster situations. At some point in near future our module may become a intricate part of aid kits.
