What Is Physical Conditioning?
Physical conditioning usually consists of a number of controlled exercises that allow for additional stretching and strengthening of the body. You will do these exercises under the guidance of an athletic trainer or physical therapist. The exercises are designed to help you increase mobility and strength, which are essential components for high performing or recreational athletes. Physical conditioning can also help you with issues such as muscular imbalances, cardiovascular endurance, core strength, etc.
Is It Difficult?
Physical conditioning can be difficult for the patient at first. You are pushing your body to perform in new and challenging ways that it may not be accustomed to. It can be tiring and sometimes cause you to have increased pain right after a session. It is important that you push through and do all of the exercises to the best of your ability. For many people, it gets easier over time.
Will It Work?
Under the right supervision and guidance, physical conditioning typically yields great results! Physical conditioning programs need to be tailored to the athlete or individual, no two people are alike and everyone achieves success at their own pace. We specialize in one-on-one attention to ensure your conditioning experience is one of great value and time!
