Welcome to the next edition of At Lader's!

Dear readers,

Can you believe it’s been a year since we embarked on this journey together? In July 2023, I launched this newsletter with a mission: to explore the fascinating intersection of the offline and online worlds. From AI breakthroughs to leadership wisdom, from startup advice to cutting-edge technologies, I’ve covered a variety of topics.

First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who has been reading, sharing, and engaging with my content. Your support fuels my passion for knowledge and creativity!

This newsletter has reflected some of my professional milestones.

As a mentor at the Founder Institute Nordics, Techstars Paris, Startup Wise Guys, and South3-E3S accelerator events, I’ve had the privilege of guiding tech startups.

And as a judge at SLINGSHOT 2023 at the Singapore Innovation Week 2023, Shorty Impact Awards 2024, Incentive Awards 2024, and Summit Creative Award 2024, I’ve been contributing to creativity and innovation.

From being featured in the World Intellectual Property Organization Changemakers’ Gallery on World IP Day to becoming a THINC Fellow-Global Young Leader - a fellowship by Tencent and Viva La Vida, I’ve been marking my professional journey in the editions of the newsletter.

I’ve soaked up insights from international conferences like MWC Barcelona 2024 (Spain), Viva Technology Paris 2024 (France), and most recently, the 2024 Global Fashion Management Conference (Italy), among others.

When I first started to study marketing back in 2009, I enjoy observing how those foundational skills still light my path. As we move forward, I’m planning to focus on strategic projects across business functions, while still supporting with marketing, collaborating with marketing agencies and other partners.

Olympic AI Agenda

As you know, Paris hosts the Olympic Games this summer. I devoted time to research application of AI during this global celebration of sport.

Olympic Agenda 2020+5, the strategic roadmap of the IOC and the wider Olympic Movement, highlights digitalisation as one of the key trends influencing modern society. The digital revolution has only accelerated in the years since Olympic Agenda 2020+5 was adopted in March 2021. Transformative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) are increasingly offering us the possibility to reshape every facet of our lives. That includes sport. While there have been stand-alone projects in different sports and different areas, there has been no holistic approach to explore the great potential of AI while mitigating the risks. Yet the possibilities for the deployment of AI within sport represent a ground-breaking opportunity for the global accessibility of sport, aligning seamlessly with the IOC’s mission for solidarity and inclusivity.

AI and tech innovations at Paris 2024: A game changer in sport | International Olympic Committee

The IOC will use AI at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, in different areas. A very important one is safeguarding from cyber abuse, since we expect about half a billion social media posts during these Games. AI will also be used to create highlights videos in multiple formats and languages during these Games. We are also using AI to make the Olympic Games more sustainable, through a very sophisticated first-ever data capture and energy management system. AI is also opening up new ways for talent identification, and this project will be launched by us globally in 2025 to live up to the commitment we made that AI in sport must be accessible to everybody. - Thomas Bach, IOC President

As summer unfolds, I stumbled upon a gem—a book that wove together the intricate threads of friendship. Allow me to share it with you.

It is a celebration of friendship, shining a light on the many different forms they can take and the comfort they provide, whether they exist within the workplace, emerge in motherhood, are uncovered inside our neighbourhoods or become our chosen family.
Just Friends is an ode to the people that shape us. It is a book to devour on the beach or with a book club, a book to return to again and again, and, most importantly, a book to press into the hands of the friends you love the most.

麦当劳 Austria has launched an engaging brand campaign that celebrates the power of McDonald's in connecting and uplifting its customers.

The campaign, titled "Best Friends," features a hero 60-second TV spot created by DDB Vienna.

In the ad, we follow the journey of a McDonald's order where most of the group shares their menu choices with a friend heading to the restaurant. However, one friend goes to great lengths to catch up and make his food choice clear, including chasing the other friend via taxi, climbing fences, and even asking a stranger to use her phone. The twist? His best friend knew his favorite selection all along.

Sonja Dirnb?ck (vormals Oberreiter) , Head of Marketing at McDonald's Austria, emphasizes that true friends know each other's McDonald's orders without having to ask. The campaign aligns with the brand's proposition of turning everyday moments golden. Thomas Tatzl and Andreas Spielvogel , Chief Creative Officers at DDB Vienna, describe it as a relatable story about friends, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Order), and the iconic Golden Arches. Besides TV, the campaign includes radio, digital, and social media components, with OMD handling the media.
