35 Running Tips To Help You Become A Better Runner | Nick Harris-Fry Coachweb

I recently stumbled upon an article that shares some valuable tips for running enthusiasts, offering insights that are often overlooked.

Get Gait Analysis. Many specialized running stores, including Runners Need, offer a free gait analysis service. During this analysis, you'll be recorded while running on a treadmill for a short duration. The footage is then reviewed, including freeze-frame if necessary, to evaluate your foot placement, stride, and running pattern. This information is valuable in finding the most suitable shoe for you. However, it's important to note that while gait analysis is helpful, it should not override your own comfort and intuition.

Refuel Appropriately. Proper refueling after your run is crucial, especially if you engage in fasted runs. According to performance and clinical dietitian Renee McGregor, author of "Training Food," your post-run meal plays a vital role in aiding recovery. If you run fasted, it's essential to consume a well-balanced meal as soon as possible after your run. This meal should include carbohydrates for energy replenishment and a good source of protein for muscle repair.
