Public Health Scotland
The national agency for improving and protecting the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
Public Health Scotland (PHS) has launched a new online learning programme to support those who deliver services to the public. The programme focuses on reducing inequalities to improve the health and wellbeing for people in Scotland.
Now live, the programme aims to foster collective learning and action by bringing together people from across sectors to share experiences, providing opportunities to build working relationships on areas for improvement.
Sessions will be delivered every month from October 2022, with initial topics covering setting outcomes to tackle inequalities, how to demonstrate the impact of work, and a conversation about the role of advocacy in reducing inequalities.?Each session will be delivered by individuals from different organisations and backgrounds, including individuals with lived experience from across Scotland, to bring a wealth of experience and insight.?The sessions will link to our online learning resources on the PHS Virtual Learning Environment, to provide support, guidance and further learning for participants.?
?Realising our ambition for healthy life expectancy goes beyond the NHS and primary care. Other public bodies can use their scale and influence to address some of the drivers of inequalities. As the anchor institution for public health in Scotland, PHS is establishing this programme to build capacity at local and regional levels.
