Photovoltaic Silver Paste: A Vital Component of the Solar Cell Industry

Photovoltaic Silver Paste: A Vital Component of the Solar Cell Industry

What is Photovoltaic Silver Paste?

Most of the time, photovoltaic silver paste is made of silver powder, an organic solvent, and a binding. In the process of making solar cells, a metal electrode grid is made by coating or printing photovoltaic silver paste on the surface of the cell.

Silver is a good electrical conductor and can provide a good way for electrons to move along. It does this by helping to collect electrons and move them through PV cells during the process of turning solar energy into electrical energy. These squares of silver paste that conduct electricity help collect the current and send it to the cell's circuitry, which makes the cell work better.

What are the characteristics of photovoltaic silver paste?

1. High conductivity: Silver is a good conductor, so photovoltaic silver paste has good conductivity. This helps to lower resistance and improve the battery's ability to collect power.

2. Good adhesion: photovoltaic silver paste sticks well to the surface of the silicon chip, so the electrical connection is reliable.

3. It doesn't get old: After being carefully made, the photovoltaic silver paste can be used for a long time and still have stable electrical qualities that aren't easily changed by the environment.

Where is the Photovoltaic Silver Pastenbsp;in the PV panel?

Depending on where the silver paste is on the solar panel, it can be called silver paste on the front side or silver paste on the back side.

Silver paste on the front is mostly used in P-type batteries with a lit surface and N-type batteries on both sides, which are the most popular products on the market right now.

Most of the time, silver paste is used on the back of P-type cells to help them stick together. Its main job is to hold things in place.

Because of this, the silver paste on the front of photovoltaic panels needs a better way to make it and a higher amount of electrical conductivity.

What are the different types of solar silver paste based on the temperature at which they are sintered?

Based on the temperature at which it hardens, photovoltaic silver paste can be split into high-temperature silver paste and low-temperature silver paste. The main product on the market right now is high-temperature silver paste, which is mostly used in BSF and PERC batteries. CPIA (Chinese PHOTOVOLTAIC INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION) data shows that high-temperature silver paste makes up more than 98% of the silver paste supply.

Solar panels, which are made by Maysun, are very popular with customers.

Most HJT heterojunction batteries use silver paste that works at low temperatures. As the market share of HJT heterojunction batteries grows, the demand for low-temperature silver paste will grow quickly.

Does Photovoltaic Silver Paste cost a lot of money?

The main parts of photovoltaic silver paste are high-purity silver powder, glass powder, and organic raw materials. These are made by mixing, rolling pulp, and other methods. Positive silver paste is made with a recipe. The exact ingredients affect the next links, which affect the silver powder. From the point of view of the cost structure, silver powder makes up more than 98% of the cost. However, from the point of view of performance, the performance of silver powder directly affects the resistance of the electrode material, which in turn affects the efficiency of photoelectric conversion. Vitreous acts as a bonding phase. At high temperatures, the glass powder quality of the silver-silicon ohmic contact in the silver powder sintering machine is what makes the difference.

What is the future development direction of photovoltaic silver paste?

If the silver powder isn't even, it will have a lot of surface energy, rough particles, easily form clumps, and be hard to spread out evenly in the medium. This will make the sintered silver film very porous and increase its resistance. Spherical silver powder has a small specific surface area, better dispersion, printing with smoothness, and conductive film has a dense structure, so spherical silver powder is a silver paste production of raw materials used more. However, spherical silver powder is easy to form a point of contact, sintering after the sphere shrinkage, the increase in the voids, and the effect on electrical conductivity, so the future direction of research is for the different shapes.

Since 2008, Maysun Solar has been making good solar panels. We sell a lot of different things. We also have all-black, double-glass, and other kinds of solar panels that use half-cut, MBB, and IBC technologies. These solar panels work very well and look great, so they can be used on any building.
