Photography Out of Lockdown

How is it March already? I sit here wondering where the first two months of 2021 have gone but also feeling quite thankful that they are over. As a photographer, this latest Covid-lockdown has been quite tough. I’m pleased that after the government's announcement last week we now have a roadmap out of the restrictions. There is indeed light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve taken few days to process all the information, and in line with the easing of the restrictions, this is how I will be returning to photography;
March 8th
- One-to-one outdoor shoots. For example, business headshots outdoors & individual portraits.
- In-person planning meetings outdoors. (Zoom also still available if preferred).
March 29th
- Shoots with up to five people outdoors. For example, team photos. This is following the rule of six.
April 12th
- Indoor shoots at locations permitted to open. For example, retail premises, hairdressers, libraries, indoor leisure facilities (including gyms) & offices with Covid protocols in place.
- All guidelines relating to PPE & social distancing at the time of the shoot will be followed.
- No shoot in client's homes.
- In-person planning meetings in outdoor hospitality venues. (Zoom also still available if preferred).
May 17th
- Indoor shoots at locations permitted to open. Now including indoor hospitality (cafes, bars & restaurants) & hotels. Please note permission from venues will need to be gained.
- Shoots of up to five people in client's homes.
- All guidelines relating to PPE & social distancing at the time of the shoot will be followed.
June 21st
- All restrictions lifted & shoots to resume as per pre-covid times.
These dates are subject to change in line with government guidance.
Whilst it will still be some weeks until I am in a position to work ‘normally’ this is a move in the right direction. My philosophy through the whole pandemic has been to act responsibly & do everything I can to minimise the spread of the virus. Other photographers may interpret these guidelines differently & may return to normal working patterns sooner.
My priority at all times is to keep myself, my client & those that we come into contact with safe.
I’m excited to have a plan in place & cannot wait to get back to shooting & helping my clients to tell their brand story through photography.
