Photography grasps our attention. - Then the real selling starts, or does it?

The photograph above is a cropped - but otherwise unedited - version of the photograph below. It is amazing how even the simplest change can make a significant difference.

Photography is continually used to draw, keep and hold our attention for the benefit of sales and marketing teams across almost every industry. It works extremely well, promoting everything from bottled water to vacations, using images that tempt us to buy.

It should not be a surprise then to learn that fake articles, fake news and misleading social media posts are deploying the same tactic.

The images they use attract our eyes, the article is well presented and the reader often embraces the new "knowledge" on offer.

The problem comes in spotting which news articles are fake and which ones are telling the truth. In the case of politics, any given article may be fake, but the counter article rebuffing whatever claim has been made, may also fail to provide the truth.

This makes it even harder to know where the actual truth is.

It occurred to me that there may even be professional journalists who struggle to sift through the "noise" to discover the reality.

There is so much of it, where do you look to find the truth?

==============================================================

I have added some more pictures taken of the same sunset, just for fun. Let's be honest, the pictures are far easier to understand than all the "noise" that claims to be news!

I hope you have a nice Monday Barbara Papuga, Boris Papuga, Pamela Palmqvist, Jennifer Smith, Dan Welton & Casey Katchersyde.
