*** NUMBER ONE EXCUSE FOR NOT WRITING A PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG! ***
Excuse #1. I am NOT a writer, I am a photographer.
I can totally relate to this one as I'm actually Dyslexic and really struggle with having to read my content over and over again for mistakes before I publish it.
However you don't have to be a good writer, you just need to discover the power of using your client's words instead of your own!
You could use questionnaires both pre and post your photoshoot which will give you the main body of text that you can use for blogging and especially social media posts.
Remember Social Media is Social !! People LOVE a good story.
The essence of a good story is quite simply WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN AND WHY. As I was told when I was a Navy Photographer and had to word press releases on a daily basis.
If you are a portrait photographer, you can ask where did they shop for their outfits or props? Which photo is their favourite and why? Who are they, what are the doing (getting a family portrait taken), where was it taken and when, plus the big one what is the reason for the family portrait, maybe it's a birthday surprise for Gran or the birth of a new addition to the family. Just tell the families story and your clients will relate to it.
If you are a wedding photographer you can ask why they chose the venue they did, how did he propose, what was their favourite part of the day and any advice they may have for future brides planning their wedding.
For more tips and advice keep following my posts and if you have any questions at all on how to grow your photography business through social media then just drop me a message.

7 年Bravo. I'm a photographer although I'm a accountant. There is no correlation. As photographer I enjoy taking portraits exhibiting a true character of an individual. For travel and architecture photographer, it's an impressive and story I would like to express. I agree with the author.
