A photo of NARNIA from N.Ireland! Can you help monetise it?

A local photographer called into our MADE in Mourne project in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland and showed us the photo above.

“This is Narnia” he said.

“I beg your pardon?!?” I replied.

He explained “I took this shot from the spot on the hill where CS Lewis sat overlooking the Mournes. Whilst looking at this view he came up with Narnia. This is Narnia – from the Chronicles of Narnia!”.

He went up to the spot one morning whilst the snow was on the ground. We believe it’s a once-in-a-lifetime shot, capturing the ‘magic’ of Narnia with the snow and the light. We’ve tested it with a few children and their eyes lit up, all saying how it felt magical, just like the film – all not believing that this was a photo of the ‘real Narnia’. Most parents we spoke to, even here in NI, didn’t realise it was based on a real place and suggested that it might be a nice photo/print for the walls of children’s bedrooms.

So, a part-time local N.Ireland photographer captures Narnia, probably the first time it has ever been captured i.e. take the snow away and the light and it lacks the magic and the interest. He’s a lovely guy, really passionate about the region and has a good eye. This could launch him. And we would like that to happen!

He needs help and our MADE in Mourne project (charity that helps launch/showcase Mourne artists and creatives) would like to help launch him. But we need your help too…

The value?

We believe there could be demand for photos and prints globally (I could see a full sized limited edition of this on the wall of a Manhattan mansion?); a full set of children’s table mats with this and the other iconic CS Lewis images from Belfast (the lion, lamp-post etc); tourism image for Northern Ireland; Narnia tours (physical, Virtual Reality); a publishing shot to accompany the books ….
