So how do you get reliable 12VDC electricity that distance, using several permanent connection points, a quick-disconnect option and still obtain a reliable return signal? Phillips Industries figured that application out quickly and guaranteed us results! When you install our hand truck carriers on the rear of a large and very long side-loader beverage trailers and the route driver needs to activate the HTS Ultra-Rack unit from within the tractor cab interior, it's quite a distance! HTS Systems' HTS-30D-2MTBT electrical kits designed for Mickey Truck Bodies and VT Hackney side-loader beverage trailers, consists of 7 blade plug socket receptacles, 7 blade plug assembly and 7 conductor Phillips Duraflex cable. This customized electrical application allows long distance remote access from the tractor cab to the trailer rear. A return signal powers an LED indicator light and audio alarm. Over the past seven years we've designed custom electrical components for several of our fleet customers, including Ajax Turner an Anheuser Busch beverage wholesaler distributor located in, LaVergne, (Nashville, TN.) Tennessee. We addressed the long distances we needed to travel, amperage concerns and integrating our existing electrical micro-cable system into an existing and proven Phillips application. I had a few concerns, Ron and I carefully went over every aspect of our HTS-30D-2 design. After putting the pieces of the puzzle together on paper, we began the bench testing phase to confirm the new application. Even before completing our prototype testing, only days later Andrew Summers - National Fleet Sales Manager at East Phillips Industries was already knocking at our door! Andrew arrived with test samples, made additional suggestions and also confirmed our trailer project was compatible and cost feasible.
