Phew! Honoured, relieved and just a little bit pleased with myself ...

My 6-year research journey with Edith Cowan University has come to a successful conclusion. My Thesis "Towards a fit-for-purpose regulatory framework for radiation protection in Western Australia's mining industry: Evaluating mine worker exposures to naturally occurring radionuclides" has been passed (without conditions) by the ECU Graduate Research Committee.

Lots of people to thank, most of all my principal supervisor Marcus Cattani , and co-supervisors Steven Hinckley and David Leith as well as the team at ECU SMHS research.

Love and thanks to my home support team Jarryd, Alison, Callum Ralph and Grace Durack for your patience and understanding, and mega-hugs to Michelle Ralph for constantly being the wind beneath my wings and encouraging me to be my best xxx.

My gratitude also goes to the great team at #MRIWA who provided access to much-needed funds, and a marvelous support network at a critical juncture in my research.

For those out there considering pursuing PhD studies, I can strongly recommend the ECU Integrated program. Having had a long break in my post-grad studies, I found the structure especially well suited to my circumstances - the first 18 months of course work dusted off my research cobwebs and guided me through ethics, communicating and promoting my research, and setting me up for the research project.
