Phenomenon Of Life
There’s a certain twist to it, this thing, this phenomenon we call life. It’s chaotic. And we’re born out of this chaos, and as such, we never are able to achieve that nirvana we keep seeking throughout our short miserable lives. Those with patience may persevere and come close, but those without, they’re the ones who need to be taken care of. In this meaningless race of virtues and vice, would you empathize enough to stop and lend a helping hand to them? Most of us wouldn’t. But then there are those who always will. They won’t offer help out of guilt, instead, more than often, they offer it out of some misplaced notion of altruism which they consider to be deep-rooted in their mechanism. They say there’s a certain kick to it, a certain pleasure you get when doing these random acts of kindness and so-called selflessness. I have witnessed it often so I can assure you that it is indeed a drug like no other. Maybe it’s the happiness you feel when you do something kind for others. But maybe, that power you hold over the helpless being in their moment of weakness is what kicks your rocks. That very minute split second of playing God, maybe that’s what makes you feel All-Powerful, All-Gracious, and All Magnificent. But what do I know? I’m just a wayfarer sharing his two cents on the matter.
