Pharma company expands the capabilities of its global supply chain organization to integrate a new demand-planning IT system

A leading global pharmaceutical company was implementing a new demand-planning IT system. To succeed with the integration, the company joined forces with Prokura to develop a tailored capability-building program.

This custom solution combined and connected theory, principles, company processes, and IT system technicalities to ensure a 360-degree capability improvement that unlocks the full potential of tactical demand planning and anchors the new system within the organization.

Solution?

Prokura helped develop a program to anchor the new system and new ways of working with tactical demand planning. The program was structured in seven modules with lectures and hands-on experiences, supported by co-developed handbooks backed by the latest market insights and best practices along with documentation of the company’s own demand-planning processes. Each module had a specific focus to provide new knowledge, with methodologies and principles that could be applied to employees’ daily work.

Demand-planning knowledge and IT system applications were combined in a structured way to elevate demand-planning capabilities, improve system capabilities, and ensure that the information was relevant and applicable for the employees who use the IT system.

The program ended with a case day. Each employee was given a minor project to work on, linked to the demand-planning IT system. In addition to strengthening employees’ capabilities, the company also developed a structured mapping and anchoring of the global demand-planning process. Each activity within and outside of the demand-planning IT system was fully documented, which enabled the company to rapidly onboard new employees.

The program facilitated a transformation journey in which change management was the key to unlocking the full potential of the new demand-planning IT system.
