Call me on my cellphone: Putin and Trump?
On Friday, Trump announced he had a phone call with Putin. Trump said they exchanged concerns on the death caused by the war and reiterated his promise to end the war quickly?(New York Post). The next day, the Kremlin said it couldn’t confirm or den that a conversation had taken place between the two presidents. The Kremlin said they are waiting signals for an in-person meeting with Trump (Moscow Times).
US Aid and Ukraine?
The suspension of funding for US Aid has caused a shock in the field of international development. Among the many victims of that change is Ukraine which received $4.3 billion in 2024 to support economic development, health, and infrastructure restoration (CEPA). Additionally, since Congress has yet to approve a 2025 budget, the supply of military aid, which does not depend on US Aid, may soon run out (Kyiv Independent).
