Petrisic Satellite and Antennas were engaged by a residential customer who had always experienced poor signal issues due to being located in the valley with no direct line of sight to any cellular towers.
THE ISSUE
The residential customer had always experienced poor signal issues due to being located in a valley with no direct line of sight to any cellular towers.
All attempts by previous service providers failed to provide a reliable solution.
CHALLENGES
The obvious challenge was the fact that there was no direct line of sight to any cellular towers to the house due to the position in the valley.
The only opportunity to access a direct line of sight to the closest cellular tower was on a hill which was over 1km away from the house where a signal was required.
With the specific solution, ensuring that the Yagi antennas had adequate separation was overcome by putting a separation plate under the external Yagi Antenna.
THE SOLUTION
The only way to get the coverage was to utilise a high point on a hill on the property, 1km away that had a line of sight. Mounting a Blackhawk Yagi Antenna on a 10m mast to get 4G 700Mhz from the tower into a Cel-Fi GO mounted in a waterproof enclosure. The signal was then transmitted back out via another Blackhawk Yagi Antenna aimed at the customer’s house where a Cel-Fi GO Yagi building pack was used.
