Peter Attia’s new longevity clinic aims to ‘redefine healthy aging’

Biograph leverages advanced diagnostics focused on cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, brain health, cancer and quality of life.Renowned healthy aging expert Dr Peter Attia has entered the longevity clinic arena with the launch of preventive health and diagnostics clinic Biograph. Co-founded by Attia and tech entrepreneur John Hering, the clinic adopts a proactive healthcare model that prioritizes early detection and personalized care.

Currently operating in the San Francisco Bay Area with plans for global expansion, Biograph aims to help individuals extend both lifespan and healthspan by leveraging state-of-the-art technology and comprehensive health assessments. ?The clinic says its methodology involves collecting over 1,000 data points from more than 30 medical evaluations to generate highly personalized health insights. These assessments span five key health pillars: atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, brain health and neurodegenerative disease, cancer risk and early detection and quality of life metrics.

My take on this: Biograph’s advanced diagnostics use cutting-edge technologies like whole-body MRIs, cardiovascular imaging, genetic testing, neurocognitive assessments and multi-cancer screenings to provide a detailed view of an individual’s health, enabling personalized interventions and lifestyle changes.

“Diagnostics are foundational to evaluating and implementing an effective health strategy informed by a systems-based approach, as well as comprehensive analyses that consider each data point within the context of an individual’s entire health picture,” said Attia. “Biograph’s evaluation is best in class, which is why I recommend my patients start here.”

Having already been in operation for some time before its official launch, Biograph claims it has identified urgent or life-altering health insights in more than 15% of its members, uncovering conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative disorders. The clinic’s methodology has been developed under the guidance of Michael Doney, MD, MPH, MS , an emergency medicine physician who transitioned to precision longevity research.

“My transition from emergency medicine to the preventive health field stemmed from a conviction that patients deserve a more comprehensive understanding of their health and well-being,” said Doney, who serves as Biograph’s executive medical director. “Recognizing the variability in quality among health tests, scans, and assessments, I was drawn to Biograph’s mission. We are committed to providing the most in-depth analysis of a broad range of health factors, enabling members to not only extend their lifespan but, more importantly, to optimize their healthspan and overall quality of life.”
