Pete Nilsson, of FoamKing Skandinavien is using SPF to preserve 11th century art and architecture. This groundbreaking challenge may allow FoamKing to use their technology to preserve ancient art work throughout Sweden and possibly throughout the world. “It took 4 years for our company to be awarded the contract to preserve the Nordic church’s art and architecture,” said Peter. Foaming behind the delicate, ancient walls of the church was a logistical challenge as Pete maneuvered into tight, dark, winding crawl spaces. Great care had to be taken to avoid damaging anything, and everything had to be done perfectly the first time. The purpose of the foam was to eliminate moisture that would otherwise deteriorate the precious, irreplaceable artwork and to provide structural integrity for this historic structure. “Once our process has been deemed a complete success, we will have the opportunity to preserve other historic works of art in Nordic churches throughout Sweden. We used Synthesia foam for this project,” explained Peter.
