On day two of our stay at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica in the Peruvian Amazon, we joined the buffet-style breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and 30 minutes later were looking high up in a tree at two three-toed sloths; a beautiful mother was nestling her precious baby. Only the arms of her infant could be seen clinging to the tree as she coconned it in protection. From the forest floor, the sloth looked more like a brown blob to the naked eye.
