Perth Playback Theatre has been going since 1982 What a team!

 Perth Playback has a new committee of management from the AGM last week. They elected a new Director - yes it was me ! Zane Alexander, a talented singer and entertainer has taken the position of Artistic Director and two of the past committee Chloe and Jonathan are remaining on the team, with two  new members stepping up - Nicola as Group Health and Wellbeing and Jen as Treasurer taking over for Jonathon who is our longest standing member. 

In case you haven't hear about us Playback is interactive, improv based storytelling theatre. Performances are a unique collaboration between audience and performers and are based on audience members' own stories, unfolding spontaneously through music, movement and dialogue with the audience. A Playback performance has the atmosphere of a fantastic dinner party - you may arrive not knowing anybody, but you leave having shared stories, made connections and found new friends! You don't just get to hear each others stories - you actually see them come to life in front of your eyes!

 Performances can be themed around the following:

-celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, weddings etc)

-remembrance and honouring people or histories (NAIDOC, ANZAC, funerals/memorials etc)

-exploring issues and working through changes in your community (conflict management, change management)

-uncovering 'the elephant in the room'

-team building 

-celebrating organisational successes

Playback facilitates reflection and connection in a uniquely theatrical way. 

As well as performances for the public, we work with schools, community groups, corporate groups, NFPs and NGOs, and Government departments.
