I recently gave webinars for two ATD (Association of Talent Development) chapters: Mid New Jersey and Twin Cities. The topic? Developing speaker training programs for technical staff. I provided the slides to those who completed a survey. If you'd like the slides, email me and I'll send them to you. In the slides, I included links to some of my YouTube videos, Inc. Magazine articles, and blog posts. Links to resources that address:

  • Storytelling when giving technical presentations
  • Using callbacks during presentations
  • Balancing technical depth and clarity while giving presentations
  • And more!

PUBLIC SPEAKING TIP

Don't want a dry throat during a presentation?

Bite an apple.

Apples are believed to help clear the throat, keep it moist, and prevent a dry mouth because they have a natural astringency. This astringent effect can help remove excess mucus and improve voice clarity. The crunch of the apple also stimulates saliva production, which helps in keeping the throat from drying out during a talk.

Not sure if other fruits work...

Until next time.

Apples for clearing a dry throat, I like that idea as apples don't spoil in your bag.
