Perspectives Climate Group is thrilled to announce its collaboration with numerous partners of the CCS+ Initiative in the development of ground-breaking methodologies that aim to tackle climate change. These methodologies, including the Carbon Capture and Storage framework, Direct Air Capture, Storage in Saline Aquifers, and a consolidated module for CO2 transport, are now open for public consultation led by Verra, a leading standard-setter in the Voluntary Carbon Market.
We value your insights and encourage you to participate in the consultation process to help shape these methodologies to be effective, environmentally sound, and aligned with the highest standards of integrity. The CCS+ initiative is a global multi-stakeholder platform that aims to scale cutting-edge climate solutions through a high-quality carbon accounting infrastructure. The CCS+ Initiative marks a significant milestone in the journey to unlock carbon finance for projects that reduce or remove carbon emissions. It brings together 51 stakeholders, including leading organizations in the CCUS and removals space, to develop a comprehensive carbon accounting infrastructure. This infrastructure covers all use cases for carbon capture, storage, long-term utilization, and removal technologies, forming the basis of a robust carbon management economy.
Matthias Krey , Secretary General of the CCS+ Initiative and Managing Director of Perspectives Climate Group , expressed gratitude for the contributions of partners in developing the methodologies. He emphasized the importance of stakeholder participation, stating:
