In honour of Women’s Month, our Inclusion and Diversity team hosted an event themed “The future is inclusive” featuring Olympic gold medalist Caster Semenya. During this impactful session, Caster shared her inspiring personal story, sparking a powerful discussion about confronting societal biases, the strength of community and the critical role of sponsorship in advancing inclusivity. Her story is a powerful call to action for us to live authentically and unapologetically embrace our true selves.

Shirley Machaba speaks at the inaugural Private Sector Coalition against gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH)

This week our PwC Southern Africa CEO Shirley Machaba participated in the inaugural Private Sector Coalition against GBVH, where leaders came together to address gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace.

Organisations play a crucial role in advocacy and raising awareness about the growing prevalence of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), and helping to eradicate GBVF should be a top priority for both the public and private sector.?

As PwC, we believe that by actively engaging in community initiatives and supporting policy changes, businesses can contribute to broader efforts to combat GBVF and promote gender equality. Addressing these challenges requires a coordinated approach that spans all levels of society, ensuring that efforts to combat GBVF are integrated into broader strategies for social stability and resilience.
