Perspective and Motivation

Each of us has things in life that give us perspective and motivation. Those things are as unique to each individual as our fingerprints.

It is dependent on each of us to spend the time searching our souls, hopefully as early as possible, but no time is too late, to discover what are those things that have the deepest meaning to us? The things that really motivate us. The things that give us real perspective on what is truly important in our lives. For me, the top of that list has always been family - blood and chosen. Everything I do, everything I am, everything I work for, it is all grounded and centered in family.

Now, I am blessed to have one more reason to continue to strive for the things that are important to me, to support the things I believe in, to continually work to make the world a better place. Because it’s never been about the money, it is always been about the legacy. It has been about what am I leaving for my family - what kind of world, what kind of future, what kind of values.

And now, as I welcome my first grandchild, this precious little boy, those questions become even more important, more relevant, and more urgent. What values, what lessons, what world, do I leave for him? My motivation and my perspective become even sharper and clearer and more dear. And the work continues with more passion and more urgency.
