Perspective matters!

Perspective matters!

Let me begin with a story...

There was a king who had one eye and one leg, but he was very intelligent and generous. Everyone in his kingdom lived a happy life because of their king. One day the king was walking through the palace hallway and saw the portraits of his ancestors. He thought that one day his children would walk in the same hallway and remember all the ancestors through these portraits.

Due to his physical disabilities, the king didn't have his portrait painted. So he invited many famous painters from his and other kingdoms to draw a beautiful portrait of him and also assured to reward the painter who would carry out this task.

All of the painters began to think that the king has only one eye and one leg and wondered how his picture can be made very beautiful. So one by one, all started to make excuses and politely declined king's request.

But suddenly one painter raised his hand and agreed to make a beautiful painting of the king. The king became very delighted hearing that and other painters got curious. Finally, after a long time, the portrait got ready and the painter visited the court to present it to the king. When the painter presented the portrait, everyone in the court including the king, left stunned.

The painter made a portrait in which the king was sitting on the horse, on the one-leg side, holding his bow and aiming the arrow with his one eye closed. The king was very much pleased to see that the painter has made a beautiful portrait by cleverly hiding the king's disabilities.

It's a human tendency to pay attention to negatives rather than leveraging the strengths. Following physics law proves why it is important to pay attention to our strengths/positive aspects

"Where the attention goes, energy flows. Where energy flows, things start to grow"

All the other painters paid their attention to hide king's deficiencies but only one paid attention to king's strengths and came up with a solution. Hence perspective matters!

Perspectives are invited and appreciated!

Simple story, yet profound message. We are used to seeing that which is not there and in doing this we forget to see the great in what is there already. Glass half full or half empty. Hot day or?sunny day. Your experience is written through your perspective. Thanks, Shivaraj Naregal for reminding us of this.

We see what we wish to see and focus on the negative of many in order to elevate our own self-worth. Yet we have no true understanding of the ability of others until the time comes that we are in need of assistance. Yet at that moment we will often overlook many based on what we believe to be true, rather than what is.?

Another brilliant story Shiva. Hiding the dark facts of one's life makes you a super hero in his eyes. Additionally he will work on his short comings and make himself a better person. His trust and faith in you will increase which will inspire you to spread your wings and help more people in the community and thereby contribute to peace, harmony, good health, tranquility and well being in the community you live in. Good thoughts Shiva. Wish you good luck.

Shivaraj you have a wonderful way with words! It only takes one person to replant hope within anyone. What can be learned, can also be unlearned. Perhaps then we can start to experience ‘rapture’.
