Perspective- Can you see it?
I have a saying “I will not try to get a blind person to see, I can only pray for their healing.” I found out a long time ago I cannot change anyone’s mind but, my own.
?I used to be a commissioned salesperson for JC Penny, yes! JC Penny’s used to have a commissioned sales force. I was very successful at it too. Many of my counterparts wondered how I managed every week to outsell them. My secret was to sell people what they wanted. While they were busy trying to convince people to buy the latest and most expensive, I sold them on what appealed to them. JCPenney is not known for being a trendy place. Most customers were modest and conservative. I keyed in on that, thus showing them all the reserved clothes, there were plenty, more than they could ever hope for.
Learning to see things from another’s viewpoint, I am going to come back to the word viewpoint in a minute, is crucial to being able to navigate relationships. You can vehemently oppose someone’s mindset and ideologies and still understand where they are coming from. ?Extreme viewpoints tend to be fear-based. Whatever the fear rational are not.

Viewpoints depend on where you are standing. I dislike being at an event when all the seating is on the floor level, and someone stands up in front of me. That person is effectively blocking my ability to see. Unless I stand or they sit down I cannot see, even though we are in the same place at the same time we are having different experiences. Looking out of a plane’s window from different sides of the plane is another example of being in close proximity, but not seeing things the same way. We are all having a human experience the things that separate us from one another are not vastly different. A little shift in perspective can be all that is needed. More empathy over apathy.
Social media has been a tool that has both positively and negatively affected the way people interact and influence thought. It is more important than ever to evaluate the validity of all the information that is being thrown at us each day. We can both gain and lose the ability to decipher all the information.
?I can write volumes on this topic, but for the purposes of this newsletter, I will wrap by saying try to see things from someone else's perspective. Be willing to shift your viewpoint. Be empathetic in your approach to life.

6 个月I like book promotion but most of my clients can't stand it, so I'm constantly trying to look at promotion from their POV so I can help them find the things they do like about promotion. This way they can stay consistent with it and not give up on it. Looking at someone else's POV can help you a lot. Good newsletter. Thank you.

6 个月Perspective is supported from biases and judgement. The few who really can simply allow differences to be just that are self assured by awareness of themselves. The Pope who is just another person/human issued a i'm sorry for using a gay slur while in a meeting. Being able to be non judgement is difficult but this comes back to character.

6 个月Wonderful topic excellent approach. However, information can change one’s mind. As well as 1 has ability to impact one’s emotions. To acoustics.Icons colors and the other hormonal driven system of short term memory erasing midterm memory. Allowing the consumer’s perception to be primed through hormonal resources to agree with thy perception. This technology comes down to my intent of selling information or tangible assets that thy fellow human being requires not just desire. That can also be manipulated. Consideration of each situation from an ethical factual benevolent golden rule of my intent! In relation to any interaction with another human being!Mindfulness of Cause & Effect is one of the best lessons I was taught! Emotions are driven by hormones! Yes it takes consistent observation coupled to comprehension of how our Human Physiology is Forged to our emotiona that lead to re action in response to another’s intent! As for walking in another’s shoes is not possible. Nor is it ethical to track a target to determine their routine responses. Active Engagement and Listening is another art. That allows one to determine my malevolent driven intent! The more one engages with others the more one develops skills of Perception MWM
