The personnel of Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases stand “Vegas Strong” with our community, in the aftermath of the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. We have coverage of a candlelight vigil held at Nellis AFB on our front page, and inside you’ll find stories from base personnel and military family members who stepped forward to lend their skills and support to those affected by this tragedy. Trauma teams at both bases are available around the clock to assist any personnel who have need of support, in the wake of these events that touched so many lives in Las Vegas and beyond. As we all stand together to support and comfort one another, and cope with the sad reality of what has happened in this place we call home, we also look forward to the opportunity to unite and move forward together in our journey of community healing. Hard copies of the Oct. 13 edition of Desert Lightning News will be available on Nellis, Creech and throughout Las Vegas Friday morning. Pick one up when you’re out and about this weekend, or click on the link below for a digital edition, viewable on your computer or mobile device. Be kind to one another, and stay safe.
