Breaking Silos and Advancing Equality
Dr Purity Ngina, the CEO, National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) has climbed up the corporate ladder in a short span of time garnering accolades and drawing attention from the public, including the President. Acknowledging the strides she has made in her career, she was recently awarded The Moran of the Burning Spear by President William Ruto, last year, 2024, during the annual Jamhuri Day celebration.
Dr Purity carved her path into the spotlight when she first made headlines for being the youngest PhD holder in Biomathematics in Kenya at the young age of 28, an accomplishment that earned her the much-coveted STEM Award at the African Women Diplomatic Forum in Canada in the year 2019. “When I was graduating with my hashtag#PhD, I was just graduating like any other student. A deep dive into Michael Kimathi’s stupendous journey through Kenya School of Law.Michael Kimathi an astute advocate—in—waiting—has a lot to be grateful for, having completed his exams at the Kenya School of Law, Michael admits that the journey through law school was no small feat “I am glad it’s over! I? happen to have done most of my classes online so it wasn’t as easy.” He reflects. Though anxious, Michael admits that he is eagerly waiting to reap the fruits of his labor. “Hoping the results will be out at the same time this Newsletter comes out; it will be a double celebration.” He states.
Michael Kimathi’s exceptionally unique Strathmore journey began in primary school, upon completion of his KCPE National exam. While he had anticipated joining the prestigious Alliance High School, the wings and winds of fate took him to Strathmore High School, a decision he predominantly credits his parents. “Thanks to my parents, I joined Strathmore school after primary school.
