Unlocking the Power of Enthusiasm: Stretching Your Strength!

Enthusiasm, a potent personal strength, empowers you to infuse passion and energy into your communication, whether articulating goals, expressing beliefs, or sharing interests. Are you energised by sharing your passion for your goals?

If this gives you your buzz at work, why not look for ways to use it more throughout your day? Research shows using your strengths more often will increase confidence and motivation and help you to more readily solve problems.

So which are the projects or tasks that individuals seem to have little enthusiasm for in your team or department? Would your engagement in it help to move it forward? By building your knowledge around the benefits for the team and using your enthusiasm to share these, can you get the task back on track and build momentum? Perhaps there is an opportunity within the wider organisation where you could lend the team your enthusiasm. Have a think about where it could be of benefit.

If expressing enthusiasm doesn't come naturally and isn’t one of your inherent strengths and you’d like to explore techniques that can assist you in stretching your enthusiasm to help you achieve your goals,?listen to the podcast below.

Take a step forward on your journey towards unlocking this vibrant strength. Listen to the podcast and get that buzz more often by identifying more ways you can optimise your enthusiasm strength!

Strengths in Early careers

When individuals move from education to their first step in their career or their first role, often their main focus is their lack of experience. The void they may feel they have compared to their competition in that job application. What will they talk about at the interview?

This is one time in your life when focusing on strengths can be a game changer.?

Identifying your strengths and reflecting on the occasions you have used them helps in so many ways

Firstly it boosts confidence, you are now filling your mind with your unique advantages, the positives, and what you are bringing to the position.

Secondly, when supported in reflecting on these strengths you can identify real-life examples of when you’ve used them (in school, clubs, work experience). All of a sudden you have material, conversation, and examples to build the answers to the interview questions around.

Lastly, you talk about your strengths and you have energy, your passion will come through to your interviewer!

Energy, confidence and material to talk through… if you think this could help someone you know click below to find out more.

Top Tips: Start building a Strengths Feedback culture.

Look for opportunities to give feedback when you have seen team member’s strengths in action.?

Create opportunities?to purposely share your feedback - when you have seen a?member of the team?(it doesn’t need to be your direct report)?really?optimising their strength, when?they’ve had that buzz, made a difference?and really?shown?up.

The Situation… it could be one-to-ones, team meetings, or a less formal one-off conversation.

How…?

  • Share what you saw in terms of how they were working (ideally in terms of what strength was?being stretched)
  • Share the impact it had on you or the team
  • Share if there’s somewhere else in the team that?strengths could be used, and make that suggestion.

The?result… recognition, celebration and a strengths language?resulting?in increased energy and motivation!

I hope you found these insights on strengths helpful.

Why not put a reminder in for the end of next week to look for and give some strengths-related feedback?

Wishing you an energised month ahead!

Please reach out if you have any other questions about optimising strengths. We look forward to connecting again soon.

Warm regards,

Nic
