PERSONAL SAFETY IN PUBLIC-FACING ROLES
The world today can often present with challenging situations. More and more, we need to be aware of what is going on around us whether we are at work, at home, or out and about in social settings. Even the Local Government Association provides its members with guidance on personal safety, especially for those, who are in public-facing roles. Its website includes advice on how to navigate home visits, ward surgeries, lone workers, personal callers to councillors’ private homes, attending meetings and how to report incidents.
Of course, those who work with the public in local government are not alone in requiring assistance in keeping safe during their employment. People working in the NHS, Civil Service, Estate Agencies, Education, Theatres, Museums, Art Galleries, and Embassies also face potential threats to their safety. At Staff Defence, we have designed a bespoke course entitled Personal Safety Foundation Level, which teaches each individual how to effectively defend himself/herself, when required.
