UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan marked National Day with a heartfelt handwritten message to citizens and residents, shared on Monday.

In a post on X, he expressed his pride in the UAE and its people, saying: "On the occasion of Eid Al Etihad, we take pride in the UAE and its people, both citizens and residents."

The official name for National Day was recently updated to 'Eid Al Etihad,' emphasizing the theme of 'union' and commemorating the unification of the Emirates on December 2, 1971. This theme underscores the country's heritage, unity, strength, and national pride.

Sheikh Mohamed's note extended gratitude to the people of the UAE: "Thank you for your determination. Thank you for your efforts. Thank you for all that you do for this nation."

The official celebrations will take place in the scenic landscapes of Al Ain, a city treasured by the nation. The event will be broadcast live on December 2, 2024, via local TV channels, cinemas, and select public venues.

Happy Eid Ul Etihad, Have a great day.
