Personal Development to ensure High Performance

Personal Development to ensure High Performance

I was lucky enough to spend some time with Kevin Sinfield before Christmas, have to be honest and say that I am slightly in awe of the man, and during a great discussion about a whole variety of thoughts and beliefs, he came out with one observation that really stayed with me.

If you work hard enough to get to the top of sport, you will then find yourself surrounded by a specialist support team, from psychologists, strength and conditioning experts, nutritionists, sleep experts, sport specific coaches, leadership mentors....... the list goes on.

If you work hard enough in business and get to the top of your company, what do you find yourself surrounded by? Very few companies that I know have a team of specialists looking after their Board, their senior executives.

Hence, Kevin Sinfield Paul Cheetham-Karcz and I are putting together a London based 'club' that will bring it's members together, on a monthly basis, to listen and learn from the best minds in High Performance, from sport, the military and business itself - investing in your personal development, making you a better leader and a better team player.

The club will have an online presence so that we can build a genuine sense of community, through ongoing discussions and debates, which Kevin and I will be part of, so we can all learn and develop together.

I am genuinely excited to get going with the project. Our first 'taster' event will be on March 25th, so please drop me a message if you are interested, and hopefully I might see you there...

Great initiative, Will. I'd certainly like to be involved in the online community when it starts. Please let me know.

This is a fantastic initiative, and although I don't work directly in those sectors, Will, the independent and state education sector benefits from a collegiate mindset (a problem shared is a problem halved, etc.) and could benefit significantly from your initiative. “Hence, Kevin Sinfield Paul Cheetham-Karcz and I are putting together a London based 'club' that will bring its members together every month to listen and learn from the best minds in High Performance, from sport, the military and business itself - investing in your personal development, making you a better leader and a better team player.” This initiative could seed greater collaboration between education and other sectors regarding High-Performance mindsets and leadership. After all, you set the tone of that mindset in young minds at the school level. Could I suggest you consider networking some leaders from leading London schools, both independent (many of which are themselves significant ‘businesses’) and state schools, who nurture sports, academic, performance, and creative arts, to join your initiative? Many young minds and established school leaders, could benefit greatly from this kind of focused ‘club’ meeting ??????
