Personal Brand 101 on LinkedIn

I just joined Courtney Johnson’s LinkedIn workshop on Maven, and it reminded me how many people are sleeping on LinkedIn and afraid to share content.?(workshop link below)

Your personal brand is who you are when you talk to the people you already work with and the potential people who will hire you (or even buy your product). Just relax and be yourself. We can all tell when people push it too hard and try to perform. It’s too 'salesy' and it always gives us the 'ick'.

We all want to help potential clients and the organisations that we work for, so it’s just a matter of breaking that intention down into smaller bite sized pieces.:

• What are people looking for that I can help them with? (my skills or my product)
• Have I clearly communicated that this is “my thing” in my profile?
• Does my bio explain it in a single sentence, or have I listed other random things?
• Have I shared content about that thing regularly?
• Do I engage and connect with others actively on this thing?
