I enjoyed having some time this afternoon to explore #Perplexity (https://www.perplexity.ai/)

Rather than simply “playing” with #AI, I had an authentic task in mind, namely, searching for texts to support current PYP Units of Inquiry.

• In response to my question, “Please share some read aloud texts for Kindergarten students relating to the PYP Unit of inquiry, How The World Works where the central line of inquiry is the choices we make in the design process affect the structures we build.” the thread included a selection of fiction and non-fiction texts, a short description of each text as well as some reading strategies and some related links.
• In response to my question, “Please share some high interest low level texts for Grade Four students relating to the PYP Unit of inquiry, Who We Are with Central Lines of Inquiry focusing on the elements that make up cultural identity (perspective) and cultures develop and evolve (responsibility)”, the thread included both fiction and non-fiction texts as well as some related links.

I was pleasantly surprised by the respective threads (the “answer” to my question). Whilst in some respects I would have appreciated having a wider selection of texts to consider and then choose from, I do appreciate - especially at the early stages of using #AI - #BabySteps and thus not being overwhelmed by a long list.
