Perpetual Bloom: Are We Stuck in “Fake Fall” at Work?

Let Go of the Hustle to Embrace Seasons of Creative Renewal

“Fake fall” is a real thing in Texas. One week, it’s crisp and cool. And the next?

Well, you have to wake early to decorate your yard for Halloween. Otherwise, you'll dissolve into a puddle of sweat by 10 a.m.?

Feeling perpetually stuck in a season chips away at your soul. It runs counter to our innate need for evolution.

And yet, how often do we find ourselves trapped in perpetual bloom in our creative lives, especially at work??

We live in a world that celebrates constant growth, “crushing” things, and being on 24/7.

So, we hustle. We grind.

We look for ways to squeeze more juice out of fruit that’s already been picked and enjoyed.

But here’s the thing: nature has seasons. And so do we.?

We’re not meant to bloom year-round.

Honoring Your Creative Seasons

Just as autumn is moving us toward winter, we also need time to pause, reflect, and prepare for the next wave of creation. And this looks different for each of us.

Perhaps a beach get-away with your family?

An off-site facilitated retreat?

Or just taking a half-day off to wander through an art gallery?

In my latest video (run time: 4:30), I explore this idea of perpetual bloom and offer practical ways to let go of the hustle to renew your creativity.
