Permission to fail!!!

Failure!!! Often this word has a negative connotation that can cripple anyone’s hopes and dreams. It is easy to allow both the internal and external voices to put a strangle hold on the aspirations we hold so dear. Even for someone who is a forever optimist, the ever-changing recruiting landscape as well as uncertainty within today’s workforce can suffocate the flames of ambition.
As someone who has navigated this challenging job market for the past 2 years, I have often lost sight of how qualified I am and the value I can bring to an organization. The constant rejections or lack communication after submitting hundreds of applications can be extremely paralyzing.
Taking a step back and truly evaluating my strategy reminds me that it’s okay to fail. Leaning into my morning motivation, I am reminded of a quote from Les Brown , “If life knocks you down try to land on your back, because if you can look up, you can get up”. This quote reminds us that life isn’t linear.? It is full of twist and turn, ups and downs and even setbacks.
Understanding that failure is a part of life can be liberating. This newfound liberation emphasizes the fact that we are one step closure to success. We are one idea away from that breakthrough. We are one conversation away from meeting that person who will be pivotal in changing the trajectory of our lives.
Giving yourself the permission to fail helps ground yourself in the mindset that you are not your circumstances. In reality, if your failures are in pursuit of your goal, they are merely a lesson to be learned and an obstacle to overcome. If the lesson is learned, you will have added firepower towards your dreams. If we continue to fail, we have the opportunity to continue to grow.
