Permission to dream (not only set goals)

Permission to dream (not only set goals)

Dreams are like wings that lift us above everyday life, giving color and meaning to our lives. I have dreamed of traveling to Iceland for many years. I looked at photos on the Internet, listened to the stories of friends who were there and I wanted to go there someday. I was waiting for the right moment - when the children would be older, when there would be more time...

Transform dreams into memories

Every year I go somewhere with my friend for 3-4 days - to relax, talk, get away from reality. One year I was wondering where we would go this time and Iceland came to mind - because why not? I wrote to her and after consulting with our husbands, we happily said: WE'RE GOING!!!

Instead of waiting for the various criteria I had in my head to be met, I decided not to wait any more and just take action. I won’t lie -? there was some uncertainty. It was the first time we left our families for such a long time (8 days) and what's more, it wasn't the Polish mountains, it was quite a long way from home.

It was worth it - delights every day, breathtaking views. From the aurora borealis, through volcanic landscapes, glaciers, countless waterfalls, hot springs, lush green hills, mysterious mountains covered with fog, to the sound of the ocean and barefoot crossing of an icy river. In addition, mental rest, respite from everyday life, complete lack of the need to make any decisions!!! (we went on an organized trip).

Bucket List

When I returned, I felt euphoric. Delight, joy and a sense of fulfillment infected me with positive energy. I had just fulfilled my big dream. And what now? I decided to keep dreaming and made my own Bucket List.

Bucket List is a list of things to do before death, a list that reminds us how much is still ahead of us, how much is still to be discovered, how much is still to be fulfilled. Interestingly, since I made it, I have already "checked off" a few more points. Maybe it has some motivating effect...?

Dreams and the Brain

Dreams not only add color to our lives, but also affect the brain in a positive way. When we dream, areas of the brain associated with motivation and reward are activated. This makes us feel pleasure and joy, even at the stage of planning to make our dreams come true.

Dreams can and even should lead to specific plans and their implementation. Fulfilling dreams and crossing items off Bucket List not only brings us joy and satisfaction, but also has a beneficial effect on mental health, reducing stress level and strengthening the brain's mechanism for coping with life's difficulties. This confirms that dreams and their fulfillment are not just an escape from reality, but a powerful tool for building mental resilience and increasing the quality of life.

So it's worth dreaming boldly and creating your Bucket List. It's not just a list, but above all a path to self-discovery, joy and fulfillment. Sometimes one step is enough to start an unforgettable journey of life.

If you want to create your own Bucket List, you can get inspired/use the form I prepared.

Absolutely love this perspective on embracing dreams to kickstart the New Year ??! As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Let's make those dreams a blueprint for our goals. #DreamBig #NewBeginnings #EleanorRoosevelt ???

I love this so much. I like the idea of just deciding to do something rather than waiting for everything to be in place
