Permanent Tourist

I have visited Los Angeles more than any other city. More than double any other city. That does not include layovers at LAX where I leave the airport to go to In-N-Out Burger and look around Westchester.

It is worth another trip through the TSA line. Even with their stupid two tiered baggage system. It wouldn't surprise me if Project 2025 wants to eliminate the TSA. They will save money until someone goes through their with box cutters and- never mind.

The illusion of safety and LAX's strange two tiered conveyor belt notwithstanding- the latest brief trip did not have much branching out. Hollywood is "Los Angeles For Beginners". Didn't go downtown.

Nothing was happening at The Staples Center which is a better corporate name with better colors of the floor than the current name. I equate The Staples Center with The Staples Singers and crypto reminds me of scams.

Never send money to anyone you have not met face to face. Really, really don't send cryptocurrency to them because it cannot be retrieved. Staying close to LAX reminded me of the childhood memories of bus fumes which are not as pervasive.

The smell of marijuana is more prevalent. I don't recall smelling cigarette smoke. If I have one day in the city- I contemplated heading to Beverly Hills to see if John Kraski was filming one of his enjoyable videos- it is spent in Santa Monica.

In the pre pandemic era this was my base of operations. The Santa Monica Blue Bus could take me anywhere I needed to go. The allure of the ocean- The Third Street Promenade is also interesting.

You might recognize that from Pee Wee's Big Adventure. That is where his bike is stolen although he must live in Anytown, USA. The people watching in this area is second to none. People of all ages, models who smile at me between shoots- take me to the pier.

When I was younger and closer to death (during the heat stroke era on my job circa 2017) I said my ashes should be thrown off The Santa Monica Pier. it is a more interesting place to visit while I have a pulse. I'm surprised Bubba Gump Shrimp is still in business. It's nice hearing the waves, seeing the fishermen and all the visitors.

Even the ones with PA systems talking about The Lord Jesus Christ? Let them do what they do. My first Hot Dog on a Stick came at the location on the beach. I had different meal plans although this is the only Hot Dog on a Stick that seems right.

Would you rather look at a food court or The Pacific Ocean? Location, location, location. LAX is under perpetual construction. The tram is delayed. Hopefully it will be complete for the 2028 Olympics.

One resident of Los Angeles said that wherever you stay is where most of your life takes place. I was mostly in Westchester and Santa Monica. For a day trip it is pretty good. What about dinner plans? You'll have to wait until next time for that.
