A Permanent Solution To Erosion

Repeated flooding in the Kingman, AZ area forced Mohave County to take action to prevent further erosion of the Grace Neal Channel. Originally designed with a concrete-filled cellular confinement system, the channel required a product that could withstand a maximum flow velocity of 15 feet per second.

Hanes Geo Components proposed Flexamat, a tied concrete block mat, as a solution for this application. Flexamat's easy roll-out deployment method proved to be a more economical use of time with the added benefit of supporting native revegetation in the channel.

The Grace Neal Channel project required 450,000 SF of Flexamat to get the job done. Contractors were able to stay under budget and on-schedule due to Flexamat's fast and easy-installation.
