For a reader who may not know, town planning approvals are the regulatory permissions and permits required from local, regional or national authorities before commencing an infrastructure development project. These approvals are essential to ensure that projects align with zoning regulations, environmental guidelines, safety standards, and other necessary considerations. The town planning approval process is designed to prevent haphazard development and safeguard the interests of residents and the environment.
And as per the introduction above, I clearly have a concise understanding of what TP is and why this regulatory process is needed. Town planning is crucial for creating functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing communities.
HOWEVER the delays in the application processes are leading to substantial financial losses for Private Developers, Clients and Investors. Furthermore they waste the general public's TIME. I personally do not have the patience nor the will power to wait for my favourite fast food franchise to open in about 25 years from the time it was launched to the public. YET, the local Municipality forces patience down my throat and that's just not right James, from Town Planning Department....
The process of obtaining town planning and environmental approvals in this country is becoming a significant obstacle to timely infrastructure development. Development that is actually a crucial aspect for South Africa, as it is supposed to assist in enhancing the quality of life for millions and improve their overall well-being. Is this not clicking to someone???

I cannot fully capture the adverse consequences that affect the economy because I am not an economist, BUT I do know this also has a knock on effect to the development of our economy, don't ask me to explain my thought; just trust me and take my word for it.
I must also note that I do not entirely understand how the processes within these regulatory bodies work when an application is submitted, but this does not stop me from ranting about my frustration... AND it won't stop me from giving my 2 cent suggestion as well (hahaha), 'TYPICAL MILLENNIAL', I know.
Anyway James, you and the government, policymakers, and industry players must collaborate to find balanced solutions that promote fast working systems in regards to the approval processes while safeguarding the interests of communities and the environment.
You are becoming a hinderance to the smooth flow of my research. This affects my clients and in turn my salary. So if yall don't all mind...your cooperation would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!
