Perhaps it's not answers we need, but better questions
Perhaps it's not answers we should seek, but better questions
“What does it all mean?” sounds like a good question – but is it really. What does ‘ what’ mean and to whom, or to what?
What does life mean to an ant – gives a completely different answer than what does the Universe mean to the Sun? Or what does my life mean to the stars? Or what does my existence mean to a dog? You can get answers – or create answers, but even the answer to ‘what does my life mean to me’ – probably will not be so valid in 5 years time, when every part of you has changed, every part of your environment has changed, and your concepts of the world will be different.
The question, ‘Does Hypnosis work?’ is not a useful question. If the question is “Does hypnosis as generally understood by Medicine and Neuroscience exist?” – the answer is yes. But is that helpful?
The question ‘Does Hypnosis work for me?’ Are you asking ‘Do I go into a state of hypnosis in my normal daily life ?’ The answer again is yes. Is that really helpful?
The question ‘ Will Hypnosis help my situation? ‘ is better – and the answer of course is - 'Maybe'. Can it help you? – Yes. Will it – that’s up to you, what you allow to happen.
And that’s like the answer to the question ‘Does my life have meaning?’ – the answer is: ‘That’s for you to find out. Only you’. And when you do know. It will have probably have changed
So maybe it's not answers we need – but always better questions
