What Does It All Come Down To?
Navigating today’s world can be challenging. The societal pressures to do better, and to achieve more in life and in business, continually build up around us.
It’s not always easy to remove the distractions and stay focused on who you want to become and what you want to achieve. It’s not always easy to stay true to your own self - versus what others expect of you.
You are not alone. All human beings strive every day to sort through their deepest thoughts and feelings and to turn them into attainable goals. It’s a natural-born part of each of us that can’t be ignored.
There’s a plethora of information available, telling us what to do to be successful and happy in life and in business. But, in the end, does it not all come down to these things?:
·??????Don’t expect from others the same that you expect from yourself. Everyone is not like you. Accept that everyone is at different stages of development and has their own beliefs and goals. Respect the best that others have to offer, know that it’s their personal best.
·??????Don’t judge and dismiss others when they don’t meet your expectations. Everyone has the same rights and opportunities to live and learn in their own way. Do what you can to respectfully help others grow.
·??????Don’t fake it until you make it. You can’t fake true confidence and competence; others will see right through it. Know when to ask for help and never stop learning. There's tremendous value in being open to what others have to say. Use their input to better yourself and make your own best decisions.
·??????Don’t let others design your life for you. Design the life you want for yourself and do what you can to make a difference in the lives of others as they pursue the life they want.

·??????Don’t strive for perfectionism. Strive for becoming a better version of you, every day. Be honest with yourself and with others. Others will recognize and appreciate your vulnerability and humble stature.
·??????Don’t dwell on your mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes.?Place emphasis on learning from your mistakes and be understanding of others when they make mistakes.
·??????Don’t dwell on your weaknesses. Be patient with yourself.?Focus on what you have to give and what you can positively do in every situation. Build on your strengths to gain energy and put that energy to good use.
·??????Don’t expect others to do the hard work for you. Accept that there will be times when you must go it alone. Do your own heavy lifting and be willing to help others in their time of need.
·??????Don’t take advantage of others and don't let others take advantage of you. Strive for fairness in all that you do and encourage others to do the same.?Remember, you get what you give.
The reality is that these things are often easier said than done - because our emotions, egos and personal agendas get in the way, blur our vision, and drive our decisions and actions.?Life can be complicated.
We are each a unicorn in our own way.?There are no easy answers and no fool-proof methods that work every time, no single paths that work for everyone in every difficult situation in life or business.??
Perhaps it all comes down to this: Do your personal best and expect no more than the same from others.?Through mutual respect, reasonable expectations, and open minds, we can thrive together in this crazy-busy-beautiful world in which we live.
