Performance of Solar Cells Under Different Illumination Conditions
?The efficiency of a solar cell is evaluated
by its performance under varying illumination
conditions (light intensity). We carried out an
experiment to evaluate the I-V characteristics
(performance) of a typical solar cell by varying the
source current (light intensity) and load characteristics
of a solar cell set-up. This report highlights the methods
employed in the experiment and performance
characteristics inferred from the obtained results. The
result shows that solar cells deliver more electric power
under higher light intensities but the efficiency remains
the same, provided all other conditions are kept
constant.
